<div>We are Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team (ASART), a dedicated group of volunteers committed to keeping you safe in the breathtaking wilderness of the southern reaches of Eryri National Park and mid-Wales. From the rugged peaks of Cadair Idris to the sweeping coastlines of Cardigan Bay, we're on call 24/7, 365 days a year, ready to assist when people are in need.

<div><strong>The Challenge: Battling the Elements to Save Lives</strong>
</div>
<div>Imagine being lost in the mountains, injured and alone, as storm clouds gather and temperatures plummet. Now picture a team of rescuers battling through howling winds and driving rain to find you.

<div>That's us – Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team (ASART) – and we need your help to stay dry and effective in these challenging conditions.
</div>

<div>In 2023, we responded to 53 callouts, totalling 1266 volunteer hours. We assist everyone from local dog walkers, school groups on DoE, and international tourists, to mountain bikers, hikers and climbers. We've dealt with everything from sprained ankles to medical emergencies, life-threatening injuries, and fatalities, often in the most treacherous weather conditions imaginable.

<div>In 2024, we’ve already been called out 20 times and our busiest season hasn’t even begun.

<div><strong>Our Need: Essential Waterproof Gear</strong>
</div>
<div>Here's the reality: Mountain rescue is not always a fair-weather activity. When conditions are at their worst, that's often when people need us most. Our current waterproof gear is thicker winter kit and as we all know, summer in Wales can be very wet!

<div><strong>Our goal is to raise £25,000 by December 31st, 2024. </strong>Your support ensures we can equip our team with the high-quality, rescue-grade waterproof jackets and trousers they need to operate comfortably in all seasons.

<div>This gear is not just about comfort – it's about safety and effectiveness. When we're dry, we can focus entirely on the rescue at hand, keeping both ourselves and our casualties safe.
