Abel's Journey; Our Brave Warrior

Donation protected
The middle of October, editing my child's fall photos. We notice his left eye was droopy. A couple weeks after we had taken him to the eye dr and she said he had a slight left eye turn and his eye lid was probably just exhausted from learning to use both eyes in the classroom. No other symptoms to make the eye dr or myself think it was anything beyond that. Nov 10 my child woke up not being able to move his neck at all. Nov 11 I had taken him to the emergency room and they did an x-ray and told me it was torticollis. The technical term for a spasm of the neck. The pain persisted. Nov 14 I had taken him to another er and they did a CT scan of his neck and proceeded to tell me everything looked fine and also diagnosed him with torticollis. Nov 15 I took him back to the er that we went to first and they finally prescribed him Ativan to keep him comfortable. At that point he couldnt hardly walk. Nov 20 the the 21st. Abel's arms had gotten paralyzed and he couldnt stand for anything. Nov 21 evening we rushed him to Vandy. They quickly did a CT scan which showed Abel had 3 masses in his brain. It was late so they had to call in a team to use anesthesia for Abel to have an MRI done. Which those result showed he also had a mass on his upper spine (neck area) and a mass on his lower spine. Nov 22 Abel had emergency surgery to remove the one by his neck. It was the one that was causing his paralysis bc the tumor was intertwined with his nerves. The dr had told us that day was that benign tumors do not spread. And from that point we knew our world was turned upside down. The Drs were concerned if his right arm was going to recover due to the tumor being more on his right side nerves. But over those next few days after surgery, Abel showed dramatic improvement. The drs are still trying to determine what kind of cancer it is. Abel is going to have a spinal tap done and also get fluids from his bone marrow. But these next month's are going to be hard on us. My husband was the only one working and with him having to take off and us going back and forth 2 hours each way I am now asking for help. This was hard for us to do because we are the ones usually helping. Anything helps so much. Thank you in advance. The money will help with Christmas for 3 kids, bills, and gas Keep up with our story with the link below https://www.facebook.com/Abels-Journey-our-brave-warrior-109050320572805/
