Aaron Christian Recovery Fund

Around 11:00 PM on the evening of Friday, January 30, 2015 Aaron Christian was involved in a horrific car accident. After helping his wife put the children to sleep, he made his way to the local Shaw’s to grab some much needed groceries, and to briefly stop to grab Kirby a bite to eat. But before he could make it home, the unexpected happened. While driving through an intersection, an oncoming car in the opposite direction (that had yet to have the green light) failed to stop and slammed into his car full speed (approximately 50 mph).

The impact of the accident left Aaron's car totaled, even twisted, leaving the driver’s side door unable to close and ultimately the car in no condition to ever be driven again; Causing glass to shatter into his face. The shear bearing of the seatbelt (which was a blessing to keep him in the car) has caused his body to be in immense pain since. Within minutes of the accident Kirby was notified and brought to hospital where her husband was taken, bloody and restrained to a stretcher with a neck brace. There doctors were able to remove most of the glass fragments from his face. Medical professionals told Aaron that he was lucky to have made it, based on what they saw.

He still has the largest fragment of glass stuck behind the orbital bone as well as complications with his jaw and cheek bone area. The remaining glass has caused for him to have limited to no movement of the right uppers side of his face near his eye brow. Doctors will be monitoring his recovery over the next month to see what possible plastic surgery may be needed.

A family of 6 the Christians exemplify LOVE, faith, and happiness. Devoted parents to their now three toddlers (Jamison - 3, Riley - 2, Chase - 2) and baby (Kendall - 7 months), Aaron and Kirby Christian are hardworking and dedicated in all that they commit to. Since getting married, moving in together, having given birth to their first daughter, adopting two baby boys, and recently having their fourth child - they have managed to juggle the task of being very hands on parents, devout Christians very invested in their church life, with working and furthering their education. All the while they have consistently played an active role in giving back to their community when they can in various capacities.

Considering this unforeseen circumstance, the Christians are now using what resources they can to get through each day and foreseeably expecting to have major struggle as they prepare to go through the next few months (and beyond) during the process of Aaron attempting to get things back to normal, and putting things back to life as they knew it. They are adjusting to Aaron's inability to consume normal foods, the increase in expected medical bills and costs for major prescriptions, and preparing to begin physical therapy treatments for his recovery. As such, they find themselves in need of basic things, as Kirby is a full time student working towards her Masters and stay-at-home mother, and Aaron will be unable to work for some time. Routine expenses are now more of a burden, and the family is without one vehicle, of which they greatly need. Your contribution will help them to be one step closer to getting through this transition, and deal with all that they have going on. Above all prayers and thoughts are much appreciated.

The Christian family thanks you in advance!
