Three Peaks 2019

AWASA is the AgustaWestland Apprentice & Student Association; we are a committee run by trainees at Leonardo Helicopters, Yeovil, aimed at giving back to the community and bringing students together across site.

This year the committee is supporting two local charities; Mind in Somerset and Yeovil Opportunity Group.

Yeovil Opportunity Group is a unique pre-school dedicated to giving children and families extra help and specialist support through the early years learning journey. Mind in Somerset provides support to those who are suffering from mental health issues with a focus on young people aged 11 – 18.

We are putting a team forward to attempt the 3 Peaks Challenge in 24 hours over the weekend in September. The challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon which is over 3400 meters in ascent, a total distance of 23 miles hiking and a total of 466 miles driven between them, all in 24 hours!

We are all volunteering our own time both in and out of work to support AWASA and their chosen charities. Additionally, we are undertaking a training plan of walks and hikes of varying length and ascent and terrain over the coming months!

It would be greatly appreciated if you could help support us in the challenge and to reach our target, which will go to 2 very deserving causes in our local area.
