Animal Rescue Effort 4 Hurricanes

Hurricane Harvey along with the addition of Hurricane Irma has had & will have devastating impacts on both the people and animals in areas directly affected by both hurricanes as well as surrounding areas. Animal rescue groups, veterinarians, and good samaritans are doing all that they can to provide shelter, food, water, and medical care for as many animals as possible. To support those who are providing such care for the animals, the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) will be supplying funds for the supplies needed by veterinarians and facilities who are currently doing what they can to help. They will also be providing reimbursement grants to AVMA veterinarians providing care to affected animals, as well as to veterinarians providing temporary boarding of animals whether pets, strays, or part of wildlife.  In order to help get the animals and owners the help they need, any donation would be greatly appreciated as these donations are vital to saving the lives of so many innocent animals. I cannot even begin to imagine how helpless both animals and animal owners feel during this time. Since it is so imperative to provide these funds ASAP,  I will be withdrawing donations in my name as they come in and immediately donating to the AVMF website. I am doing so because the AVMF provides donations for many different causes, and in order to ensure that the donations go directly to Hurricane Harvey & Hurricane Irma relief efforts, it will need to be specified on their website. So by withdrawing the donations myself, I will be able to ensure that all the money will infact be going to Hurricane Harvey & Irma animal rescue efforts. In addition, I will be setting up donation boxes around the area where I live. However, I will be doing exactly that in order to make it easier to collect donations and send directly to them. Please donate, any amount at all will help make a huge difference to the animals currently suffering and for those who are about to suffer. Often in these situations, shelter and care is priority for humans, and the animals are left with little help. Many shelters are too full for allow for owners to bring any pets, leaving them feeling helpless and even sometimes forcing animals to be left behind. Please consider donating. Animals deserve better.
