A Semester in Ireland

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’” - Isaiah 6:8

My first semester at Bible College was a step of faith in itself. I went in not knowing for what purpose that I was there let alone how I was going to stay but I had faith that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Sure enough, miraculously the Lord provided and not only was my semester paid for but I was given a sustaining job and joy that surpasses all understanding. It was also within those few months that I felt that my time at bible college was never meant to be spent entirely within the confines of Murrieta, California. There was an unrest in my heart, “God where then do you want to send me, that I may learn your word according to your will?” It wasn’t much longer after that in which one of the representatives from the Calvary School of Ministry in Waterford Ireland came and spoke on my campus. As I sat and listened my heart welled up within me and I knew immediately that this in fact was the answers to my prayers. From then on my prayers have changed from where to how.

A semester abroad is not nearly as cheap as the $3,250 for everything at CCBC Murrieta. In fact it is almost double the cost. Since I am asking for support, I wish to be as open and honest with all of this as I can be, so below is a list of all the expenses that are coming my way.

Tuition for Calvary school of ministry €2,500 which calculates to $3,456.75. Books will cost exactly €100 which totals out to be $138.27. The plane ticket for the journey out there will be roughly $1,000 round trip (hoping for something cheeper). A missions trip to Turkey for 10 days which costs €450 which is $624. Finally, about $500 for anything that I might need it for (i.e. food, travel, medical, etc.)

Ultimately, I only need $5,750 to make it out there, and if that is all I get then there is no question in my mind that I will go. I am only asking for $6,000 as to be comfortable and sure that all expenses will be paid for.

Now I realize that this trip is for my education, and that I cannot guise it under the category of mission trip. Therefore, I wanted to make it very clear that over the summer I will be working two jobs, one as a maintenance employee at Calavry Chapel Conference Center in Murritea and two as a baby sitter for a long time friend in Temecula. The reason I ask for support at all is I know that by myself alone I cannot raise the funds to pay for my time in Ireland.

So there it all is. I am laying my heart on the line and trusting the Lord to provide the way for me as I take a step of faith on His country of Ireland. If you feel lead to support, then I thank you for all the help, but if it is just not what the Lord is leading you too then I simply ask for prayer. That God will use me to further his kingdom and to answer his great commision of going "therefore and makeing disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)

Thank you so much for your time, and I wish you a blessed rest of the day.
