Brian & James Futbol Project
Arrive works with Fariji Volunteers, a Kenyan non-profit organization, and has established and runs the Keumbu Rehema Childrens Home in Nyaturubo, a village in rural western Kenya. The children Arrive rescues immediately move from a life of drug addiction, starvation, and homelessness to one of hope and opportunity. Every child goes to school, sleeps in his or her own bed, eats three healthy meals per day, lives a healthy and sober life, and is happy. Most importantly, they learn skills that prepare them for a fulfilling and successful life after school.
Arrive also hosts volunteers from around the world to come to rural Kenya. Volunteers have many choices for their program but all visitors are immersed in local culture. Volunteer projects fall under one or more of the following categories: education, health, and community development.
I will be creating a Futbol Field for the kids of the organization on the piece of land that the Arrive kids play on. This will make it easier for them to play because it will be very accessible. Also we will not have to worry about random things getting stolen like what happens at the local public playing fields
ADDITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
Adding cement floors to the girls' house and boys' house is essential for the well-being of the children. Without cement, we continually need to buy morem, a rock/soil mixture to keep the floor to keep it from eroding. Besides having to pay, the floor is uneven and collects additional dirt and trash. When wet, it becomes mud, allowing the bunk beds sink into the ground and become unstable. The dirt also makes the house inviting to bugs, mice, rats, and snakes; all of which have been found in the boys’ house. Cementing the floor along with adding red oxide will be a permanent solution that increases cleanliness and safety. Plus, it makes living in these houses much easier and reduces the amount of work needed for floor upkeep. Lastly, we will never need to buy morem to put on the floor again. By planning and using the best materials, these cement floors will last 1,000 years without having to be repaired or fixed....originally the goal was 1000 but we are moving at a fast rate and think we can get the soccer field and the cement floors !!!!!

**This is the village field, which we have rented through 2015 so we are allowed to build there. Arrive kids usually play large soccer matches there. Because it is not at the KRCH, security measures must be in place to avoid theft of materials.'
