About Alpha One Canine Academy and Its Founders

Ian and Brooke Knight, owners of AOCA and proud Palisades locals, have a rare gift: they connect deeply with both people and animals. Ian has devoted his life to building lasting, meaningful relationships between pet owners and their beloved dogs. Together, Ian and Brooke inspire their clients to strengthen the bonds between humans and pets through love, respect, discipline, and harmony.

Over the years, Ian and Brooke have become pillars of their community, offering unwavering support and guidance to pet owners and fostering trust and understanding with every interaction.

However, the past few years have been incredibly challenging for the Knights. In 2023, Ian suffered a devastating back injury that required him to relearn how to walk, function, and even train dogs—his life’s passion. They’ve also endured personal losses, including the passing of two close friends and their beloved dogs, Beretta and Roscoe.

Ian and Brooke have remained steadfast in their dedication to AOCA and their community despite these hardships. Now, they face their greatest challenge yet.

The Devastation of the Palisades Fire

On the morning of January 7th, the Palisades Fire swept through the community Ian and Brooke hold so dear. The Knights live in a condo at The Highlands complex in the Palisades, which also serves as the headquarters for AOCA, including their dog boarding and training operations.

Ian, Brooke, and six dogs in their care were forced to evacuate. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely. However, the grounds around The Highlands, where AOCA conducted 100% of its training and boarding, were completely destroyed. The Knights have not been able to return to their condo and don't even know the extent of the damage or if it will be at all habitable in the future. Without these facilities, AOCA cannot operate.
