<div>Ciao a tutti il mio nome è Sebastiano Quattrocchi, sono nato il 07/10/2003. Il 7/10/2018 ho festeggiato il mio quindicesimo compleanno, il mal di testa che avevo avuto nelle due settimane precedenti sembrava miracolosamente attenuato. Stavo bene. Ma poi... il crollo. Forte mal di testa, mal di collo, nausea, non riuscivo a muovermi e a respirare bene. Ed è iniziata così la mia strada verso la salvezza. Prima il pronto soccorso di Acireale, dove mi hanno trovato una massa tumorale nel cervello, poi di corsa a Messina, dove quella stessa notte, ormai il 10 di ottobre, mi hanno inserito uno shunt, per drenare il liquido cerebrale in eccesso. E poi il primo viaggio a Milano, verso l'ospedale Carlo Besta e l'istituto dei tumori, dove con un po' di fatica e di pazienza, tanti esami e tanta paura siamo riusciti ad ottenere una diagnosi corretta: tumore del parenchima pineale, terzo stadio. Sono stato operato il giorno 06/11/2018 all'ospedale Carlo Besta di Milano dal dott. Paolo Ferroli.

<div>L'intervento è stato essenziale ma non risolutivo, a causa della brutta posizione che occupa questo mostro che ho nella testa... Con tanta fatica sono riuscito a riprendermi e grazie al sostegno emotivo ed economico delle migliaia di persone che mi hanno aiutato sono riuscito ad andare a Sidney per essere operato dal dott. Charlie Theo, nella speranza che potesse rimuovere l'intera massa. L'intervento si è svolto il 5 dicembre 2018.

<div>Purtroppo anche questa volta non è stato possibile concludere questo calvario, ma abbiamo ridotto al minimo questo tumore. Il giorno 9 dicembre sempre a Sidney ho dovuto subire un altro intervento, questa volta per drenare il liquido in eccesso nello stomaco, in quanto l'idrocefalo, così mi hanno spiegato, è uno dei maggiori rischi connessi al "mio" tumore... Che tanto mio non sento ma ci devo fare i conti. E così... 4 interventi a distanza esatta di 2 mesi dalla prima tac ad Acireale. Sembra passata una vita... Durante le vacanze di natale mi sono goduto la mia casa e la mia Sicilia, per poi ripartire alla volta di Milano per fare la radioterapia all'Istituto dei Tumori.

<div>Dal giorno 8 Gennaio 2019 sto seguendo la radio, la fisioterapia e anche alcune lezioni di scuola che l'ospedale organizza per i bimbi e i ragazzi come me. Sono tanto stanco, ma ho sempre lottato con il sorriso perché voglio guarire, voglio vivere. In questo viaggio travagliato mi hanno accompagnato il mio super papà e la mia nonna paterna, senza i quali non avrei mai trovato la forza per svegliarmi ogni giorno. Loro mi coccolano e mi fanno ridere, mi rassicurano e mi amano come nessun altro. E non sono solo. Ci siete anche voi...

<div>Voi che avete pianto e riso per e con me, voi che avete seguito le dirette Facebook per avere aggiornamenti, anche se con il fuso orario erano di notte, voi che avete donato soldi per permettermi di essere curato e che state continuando a donare, sapendo che dovrò tornare a Sidney e che la mia strada è ancora lunga.

<div>Siete stati la mia forza, ho sentito il vostro affetto e la vostra vicinanza ogni giorno e non potrò mai smettere di ringraziarvi... Siamo l'esempio che insieme si può lottare, che i social sono una grande risorsa se usati correttamente, che questo mondo così strano è ancora ricco di persone dal cuore nobile. Io vi prego con tutto il cuore di non abbandonarmi, di continuare a pregare per me e se potete a donare per me.

<div>Hi everyone my name is Sebastiano Quattrocchi, I was born on 07/10/2003. On 7/10/2018 I celebrated my fifteenth birthday, the headache I had had in the previous two weeks seemed miraculously attenuated. I was fine. But then ... the collapse. Strong headache, neck ache, nausea, I could not move and breathe well. And so my road to salvation began. First the emergency room of Acireale, where they found a tumor in my brain, then rushed to Messina, where that same night, by October 10th, they inserted a shunt to drain the excess cerebral fluid. And then the first trip to Milan, to the Carlo Besta hospital and the cancer institute, where with a little fatigue and patience, so many tests and so much fear we managed to get a correct diagnosis: pineal parenchyma tumor, third stage.

<div>I was operated on 11/06/2018 at the Carlo Besta hospital in Milan by dr. Paolo Ferroli. The intervention was essential but not decisive, due to the bad position that this monster that I have in my head ... With so much effort I managed to recover and thanks to the emotional and economic support of the thousands of people who helped me I succeeded to go to Sydney to be operated by dr. Charlie Theo, in the hope that he could remove the entire mass. The intervention took place on December 5, 2018. Unfortunately this time it was not possible to conclude this ordeal, but we have minimized this tumor. On December 9th, in Sidney again, I had to undergo another operation, this time to drain the excess fluid in the stomach, as hydrocephalus, as they explained to me, is one of the greatest risks associated with "my" tumor ...

<div>I don't really feel that much, but I have to deal with it. And so ... 4 interventions at exact distance of 2 months from the first tac to Acireale. It seems like a lifetime ... During the Christmas holidays I enjoyed my home and my Sicily, and then left for Milan to do radiation therapy at the Cancer Institute. From January 8, 2019 I am following the radio, physiotherapy and also some school lessons that the hospital organizes for children and young people like me. I'm so tired, but I've always struggled with a smile because I want to heal, I want to live.

<div>On this troubled journey, my super father and my paternal grandmother accompanied me, without which I would never have found the strength to wake up every day. They pamper me and make me laugh, reassure me and love me like no other. And I'm not alone. You are there too ... You who have cried and laughed for and with me, you who have followed Facebook direct to get updates, even if with the time zone they were at night, you who donated money to allow me to be treated and that you are continuing to donate, knowing that I will have to return to Sydney and that my path is still long.
