Dear Friends and Family,
As some of you know, I got an opportunity to join Bethel worship U from July.07.2014 to July.18.2014, by the grace of God and by your spiritual support and encouragement.
Here is my story. I started my music life when I was 17 years old. I had loved music ever since elementary school, but I didn't know that music would be the thing that I would pursue for my life. As I had faced so much painful experience in my youth, music became the only escape for me from that hurtful time. After many failures in school and relationship with people, I started playing guitar and sang songs by myself. In my sorrow, I thought music was my only friend.
After moving back to Atlanta Georgia, I realize that true friend, who was with me throughout my hardship, was actually God. God was the one who cried with me when I cried at the night after getting bullied and left alone, and he was the one who had given me music to be joyful. Through singing and playing, and writing songs, my relationship with God was getting deeper and deeper.
God gave me not only joy through music, but also passion for worship. I met Jesus Christ in a church retreat, and I realized that Jesus called me to write music for young people who have the same hurt as me. There, I came to understand that music is what God has given me to do, for his purpose on me.
God gave me so many opportunities to lead praise and perform in several café nights, for me to get encouraged and be ensured my path for his glory. When I wondered how I could worship God through music, God prepared so many great people who are musically talented and passionate for his glory, to teach me about worship and guide me to go beyond my music community. Through good friends of me, I came to know Bethel Worship U, which will be teaching worship leading, song writing, and so many elements of worship. And above all that, Bethel Worship U will provide an atmosphere and community of worship leaders to encourage and strengthen future worship leaders to step up for God's kingdom. This is why I humbly believe going to this worship school is what God has prepared for me, and in this belief, I am so excited to be accepted to 2014 Bethel Worship U.
I wholeheartedly believe this program is worth investing my time and energy into because I'm expectant to grow immensely in my faith and foundation in the Lord. In addition, I hope to combine what I learn from this program with my passions for helping those who are lost. This next step will require more faith than I've ever had because it will not be possible without God showing up through the help of people like you. I am asking you to share in the joy, trials, and the purpose of following something that I believe God has called me to do. Will you walk along with me in this journey?
Here's how you can join my journey:
1. Prayer. This is what I need the most. If I fail to grow in faith, then this journey would not be worth it. For me not to fail, I need your spiritual support, the most.
2. Encouragement. You are already have given me so much encouragements, and I am so grateful for what you have done for me. For me to stand firmly in faith, please keep me in your prayer, and support me through the coming tides.
3. Financially. It's incredibly humbling asking you to support me. I want to be completely transparent with you about where your money would go if you chose to support me financially. The cost for tuition is $675. Anything else you provide me with will go towards rent ($40/day), food, and transportation. I am estimating that I will need $3000. My "God-sized" prayer is to raise all the funds for tuition and for my expenses so that I can truly commit to focusing on what I will be learning. However, I truly want to ask you not to just donate but also pray for me in donating, for me not to be shaken by money. Again, more than money, I need your prayer.
