Dear Givers,
Please, allow me to introduce Transport For Troops, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
We exist to provide military veterans with employment opportunities within the transportation industry. Additionally, the goal of Transport For Troops is to provide as many service members (active, reserve or guard) and veterans with little to no cost vehicle shipping.
The rates may vary between routes and vehicle conditions and types, but the cost of shipping is a constant. On average, the added cost is $965 per vehicle shipped, and the military does not provide complete coverage for shipping every vehicle to/from every post, if they provide any at all.
In addition to assisting military families with their frequent moves, we have provided shipping solutions for veterans families as well as the families of fallen service members.
With roughly 260,000 families in transition between duty assignments annually, nearly 195,000 of those are required to cover the expense of shipping their own vehicles. Imagine having to move every two to four years clear across the country on very little notice.
Many of these are able to do this without issue, however there are even more who can't afford to ship their vehicle or are forced to take long distance road trips on the heels of their last deployment or on their way to the next one.
Our goal is to raise enough money so each and every family can benefit from the support of the American public. Rather than taking another white knuckle road trip, they can enjoy their family en route to their new home. It doesn't take much to cover show our support and provide for this burden either. If everyone that voted in the last Presidential Election would simply give $1.75 a year, then we could provide each and every family in need.
