Several years ago, with joy we watched our beloved family member and friend, Toniessia Williams, get married. Soon after her wedding she and her husband proudly announced they were beginning a family. Sadly, a few years later, Toniessia was faced with the difficult reality of the dissolution of her marriage and impending single motherhood. Upon the finalization of Toniessia's divorce, a custody battle began for Toniessia's son.
From the beginning Toniessia has fought diligently for her son's well-being. The stress and strain of the custody proceedings and related court costs have created a severe financial hardship for Toniessia.
Since May 2016, Toniessia has continued to struggle in a long and protracted legal battle for a fair and equitable custody agreement. She has an immediate need for $35,000.00 to cover outstanding and ever growing legal fees. During this process she has learned some very valuable lessons, which she wants to share with other parents facing custody hearings. Toniessia's experience has created a desire to advocate for parents who are finding it difficult to navigate through the custody hearing system.
As Toniessia's family, friends and support group, we are committed to being with her on this journey and helping her in the best way possible. We are establishing this GoFundMe campaign to help with Toniessia's legal costs. Toniessia is employed, but as a single mother she is responsible for maintaining all the necessary components of providing a stable and nurturing home for her son.
As you read this request, we hope that you will help us in our mission to create a legal fund for Toniessia. Every donation helps. We will be most grateful for any donation made large or small. This will alleviate some of the financial strain and allow Toniessia to successfully advocate for her son and focus on his health and well-being. Funds received over and above Toniessia's need will be donated to organizations that provide resources for single parents to assist with child custody battles.
