Hi there, my name is Kim! I am the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the First-Ever Fully Virtual Parenting Magazine--Atomic Mommy --the online parenting magazine for all your parenting needs!

Our #1 goal is to provide a one-stop-website, dedicated to empowering parents, and publishing valuable content for the parenting community so that the parenting journey is frictionless and easy.
Why is Atomic Mommy important?
Parents are busy bees! They don't have time to search the web through different online parenting sites, only to find a dozen articles on parenting that may not fit what they actually need. Atomic Mommy wants to give parents the freedom to explore all areas of parenting within one site! That's why our content includes topics from all walks of the parenting journey--including relationship advice, self-care, and helpful information on the different ages of children.
How did Atomic Mommy Start?
I was a stay-at-home mom to four girls for 15 years. Because of this, my career goals had gone completely unsatisfied. Naturally, I felt unfinished with my life--I wanted to leave a legacy worthy of my daughters' memories.
I had always wanted to be a writer, but never pursued it with all my force. One day, I watched that movie where Julie becomes a successful blogger (via inspiration from Julia Child)-- That's when I finally decided to start a blog! I started with one post a month, which got zero attention. I didn't have a target audience or a preferred area of topics. Blogging looked so much easier in the movies!
Then--while at the park with my kids--a fellow mom asked how I handled it all. She genuinely wanted to know whatever tips I had up my sleeve to help her on her own parenting journey. The lightbulb in my head went off! I had tons of things to share from my parenting journey, so I dove into providing this in my blog. People started to notice--including my husband who became my first email subscriber!
I was writing one weekly post, but I didn't think of it as a career--careers make money--I wasn't. So, I decided to self-publish a children's picture book. It sold less than a thousand copies--after all that work and effort. It had great reviews, but I wasn't earning income. I was paying off the cost to self-publish. My husband was overworked and tired of the non-stop bills. I had no choice but to go back into my old job, as a real estate agent--I hated it!
After a month of being back at it, I quit and put all of my energy into making my blog profitable. I researched for hours on end, how other mommy blogs made money--"become an affiliate," they all said! Well, after making my first $5, the affiliate marketing went stale. Then, I started an online shop--I literally worked night after night, trying to create new product designs to sell on my blog--that didn't work either! Finally, I realized I was wasting my time doing all of this work for zero profit. So, I went back to focusing on my content. I pushed hard every day to write, post after post, until I finally came across another writer who liked my content enough to publish her stuff on my site.
Another light bulb! I started to work towards publishing other parents' points of view on my mommy blog--I began building my publishing company. It's almost two full years later, and my mommy blog turned into a successful online parenting magazine with goals of publishing books from parents!

What will Atomic Mommy do with the funds raised?
Every aspect of my company's growth is purposeful in staying true to our mission. Therefore, my company needs to raise funds so we can continue growing and providing amazing content to the parents of the world! Without your donations, none of this will be possible.
To show you how transparent my company is and where your donated funds will go, I've created a graph to show you exactly where the money will be spent once it reaches Atomic Mommy's hands. I've also added a list of completed projects and upcoming projects so you will see where our expected growth will come from. Check it all out below:
Company Goals:
1. Hire a coder to develop a mobile app for our readers to access content on the go, no matter where they are in the world.
2. Hire a marketing firm and PR agent to help grow our brand globally.
3. Partner with family establishments around the country to offer our subscribers exclusive discounts. Think theme parks, adventure centers, restaurants and more!
4. Develop a production studio to produce films and shows geared towards topics in parenting: postpartum depression, single fatherhood, terminal illness as a parent, etc.
5. Hire illustrators so we can publish great ideas from writers who don't know how to draw.
6. Publish 5 to 10 books per year in the following categories: children's picture books, middle-grade fiction, YA fiction, non-fiction, how-to's and memoirs.
