Florence followed her husband to St. Louis, MO from Ghana, West Africa 16 years ago when he was hired as a CPA for a local finance company. Having a servants heart, she attended nursing school part-time while raising their 3 kids, now ages 14, 9 and 4. To devote more time to her youngest son, she was unable to finish the degree, but wants to as soon as she can.
Two years ago, her husband abandoned the family, leaving them with all the debt and no income or savings. To make matters worse, the house and remaining car were in his name so the banks wouldn't even discuss the accounts with Florence for a year until she could convince them that he was never coming back. In fact, when the family car was repossessed, he bought it back from the bank the next day, sold it, took the money and went back to Ghana. That left Florence with the broken down car that needed many repairs just to drive, all the household bills, and the mortgage, still in his name. Can you imagine the helplessness she felt?
Throughout it all, her one thought and prayer has always been that "God will provide." No matter what has happened, her faith has gotten stronger. She knows that God will work this miracle for her.
The bank has graciously given her until November 30, 2012 to give them $10,000 or they will be forced to evict the family from the home. With no savings or credit, she has no hope of getting an apartment and if she could, the rent would be higher than her current house payment. Her friends, neighbors, and the kid's teachers have been helping where and how they can, but now we need to ask your help.
Please help keep Florence and her beautiful children in their home. Please be the miracle she and her children need.
