(to pay for an MRI and surgery to get me walking again because of pressure on my spinal chord. Neurologist gives me an *80-90%* chance of walking and running on his own again!!)

At the present time, we have had over 1400 visitors to this site. IF everyone had only parted with $5 (probably the change hanging around your house) we would have a surgery and I would be better by now.
My name is Tina and my dog's name is Wonka. You will hear his story from his perspective further down the page.
He is 9 1/2 year young and has had some bad luck getting a mom on a fixed income. I have had him since the day he was born. His mom was also my baby. He is second generation furry family and means the world to me. He has plenty of life left and needs a helping hand getting his surgery so he can get back up. He is stubborn and is learning to do what he can with what he has right now. He plays and crawls but he is a good boy and feels ashamed doing his business lying down. I want better than that for him and the Neurologist says he gives him an 80-90% chance a surgery will get him walking. He is such a happy guy and everyone who meets him loves him. HELP KEEP HIM AROUND TO SPREAD HIS RADIATING HAPPINESS! He is too heavy for me to be able to care for him forever this way. I WILL NOT THROW HIM AWAY BECAUSE HE CAN'T COORDINATE WALKING OR GETTING TO A STAND. Please Please Help get him walking again!
My name is Wonka. Come "LIKE" my Community FB page at Get Wonka Walking You can see me walk again and get a daily update, picture, video or all three. You can also talk directly to my mom if you like.
I am 9 1/2 years old and on January 29th 2014, I woke up to find out that my legs didn't work the way they did the day before. We raised money to get me in to see a neurologist and I got to see him today. My mom is on disability and we are barely getting by as it is and there is no way I will be able to get the test or treatment I will need to get me up and about again. I am a heavy boy. Moving me and caring for me is VERY difficult because I can't help too much. She says it's worth it though. She made this contraption out of a baby stroller to get me to the doctor's office today.
I am in need of an MRI to confirm what the neurologist believes is wrong with me. He thinks it is a ruptured disk that is pressing on my spinal chord causing some numbness. Because of the numbness, I am unable to work my legs like I did before. He said that with surgery, he is 80-90% sure that he can get me walking again.
I set the goal amount to $6000 because the estimate is upwards around $5300. This does not include fees for raising the money, medication I will need to take home for pain, any supplies my mom will need to keep my wound clean and other mobility devices I will need to get around until I heal. The doctor said that it could take up to 8 weeks of healing. My mom is strong and willing to do whatever it takes to get me well, but there are limits to a body. I would like to make it as easy on her as possible. I need her well to keep me comfy and happy.
I am happy to take the goodwill any way we can get it. Be it moral support, information or monetary.
No donation is too small. Recently, $5 brought us to the $900 milestone! Every little bit does adds up! Although this is not an emergency situation, it does need to get taken care of as soon as possible so that it doesn't get to an unrepairable point.
Thank you in advance for any and all that you do to contribute! https://www.facebook.com/savewonka Come see me!
