I’ve been living with Dawn and her family for about two years now, and they’re like family to me. They work so hard and care so much. Even when things are hard and everyone seems down, we always find away. The household motto is, “We’ll figure it out.” And it’s true, we always do. They’ve done, and continue to do so much for me. Even this past July, they put together a fundraiser for my horrendous and unexpected surgery expenses. They deserve so much, and there’s only so much I can do. I ask everyone to read the story, and spread it as much as they can.
This family’s dynamic, stability, and security need to remain intact. Dawn is currently an overnight care companion at Methodist hospital working with suicide, abuse, alcoholism, and Covid. Chlöe Renay, her 11 year old daughter, e-learns at home during the school week. Since Dawn works overnights, she can’t sleep during the day to make sure her daughter continues to excel in her education. I try to help as often as I can, but sometimes my own school and work schedule clash. The schedule worked swell until Dawn was assaulted by her daughters father. Not even a week later he decided to charge at Dawn’s only son, Brendan. It was at this point she made the decision to never allow this to happen again. Financially, this family has lost an income. Now, anyone who knows Dawn knows she’s not one to ask for help, but looking at the months ahead, any amount of help I know would be greatly appreciated.
