A Patch for Papa

Hi All,
Recently our father Tim Harrison (Papa) was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called myoepithelioma. This cancer was in his right cheek and in the sinus cavity. Original diagnosis was that they would not be able to remove the tumor which was the size of a small fist because of where it was located. After multiple trips to doctors we were fortunate to find a surgeon at Dana Farber in Boston who was willing to surgically remove the tumor. During the 6 hour surgery they were able to remove the tumor however in order to do so he would lose his right eye and a good portion of his right cheek. He would also suffer some paralysis in the right side of his face as well as hearing loss in his right ear. Radiation treatments will follow to guarantee complete removal. Papa still works as a tractor trailer driver a job which he loves but will no longer be able to do so because of the loss of his eye. As you can imagine the financial cost of such a major surgery as well as minimal income coming in will add to the already difficult situation. We are reaching out to you for help to support Papa and provide some needed assistance to ensure not only financial help but a much needed emotional lift. Papa's youthful spirit has always been an inspiration to us all and although they had to shave his signature ZZ Top beard we have no doubt that it will grow back longer than ever.
