Help a family who lost everything

Donation protected
Saturday October 28th I was on my way to coach my 11 year old hockey team when I saw white smoke ahead. As I approached where the smoke was coming from I realized a house had caught fire. It was pretty bad. I pulled over to make sure the family was out. Nobody out front of the house lived there or knew if anyone was in the house. Myself and a couple others began yelling in windows to make sure nobody was inside. As the fire crews arrived a single mom and her three kids surfaced and were safe. However the fire proved to be devastating. The family lost everything but two guinea pigs, saved by the brave firefighters.

I don’t know this family. I don’t even know their names to be honest, but I got a neighbors information so that I can follow up with them. Seeing the mom and kids break down as they watched their house, belongings, and even some pets go up in flames left an imprint on me. I guess I could just say a prayer and hope they are ok, but I get the sense that they don’t have much to fall back on. So I decided to try to rally some support. I probably won’t meet the goal I set for this and that’s ok. But to be able to take something to this single mom will not only help financially, but hopefully will also give her some faith in humanity and show the family that even strangers are willing to lend a hand when they are in need.

“Those that have the ability to help, have the responsibility to help.” I heard that somewhere once and if our society functioned more with things like his in mind the world would be a better place. Everything happens for a reason, I was meant to drive by there, because this family is going to need some help.

Thanks for reading and helping.
