Rylands Road Park Renovation

For a long time the local community have wanted the park redeveloped, but we all know Council’s budget is tight. The current ‘park’ houses next to no facilities, only a set of toddler swings, see-saw, a ladybird spring and a sandpit. Unfortunately the latter mentioned is used by the local cats as a litter tray more than anything else.

There has been a huge rise in anti-social behavior in the area of late, which I believe is primarily due to lack of facilities in our area. It has had a real negative effect on the community spirit. I hope that we can work together to build something that we an all be proud of.

We have set up a community group to help raise money towards the redevelopment of the park and will liaise with the council on how best to spend the funds or contribute to the overall budget for the work.

The ideas for the space so far include an outside gym, dog run, enclosed football area and a park suitable for all (MUGA) if we can raise enough funds!

The £10,000 target set here would be an amazing amount to raise from local people. We will also be asking for donations from companies to help raise additional funds.

We would be extremely thankful for any support you can give to improve the playground for our children and generations to come.
