Cuts for a Cure

Good day, ladies and gentlemen.

A few years ago I began growing out my hair with a few friends in the hopes of someday donating it as a wig. Some friends of mine were out within months, some lasted a year or so; but two still remain. Me and James Rauti will be cutting our hair on August 2nd and would love to accompany our donation with some cash as well. We will be donating all funds to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Just over a year ago I lost my grandfather to cancer after a lifetime of battling the disease. He had been diagnosed with cancer and beaten it twice before Lung cancer led to his passing last spring. When I set out to grow my hair, I was naive to the everlasting effects the disease can have on individuals and their loved ones. After experiencing a loved one fight a long, tough battle with the disease; I now realize how important it is that we continue improving our treatments.

My grandfather, Terry Woodford, was more selfless with his time and his life than I can truly fathom. He lived for his family; through and through they always came first. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a fantastic grandfather. He always knew the right thing to say and the right button to push. He was surrounded by loved ones during the final stages of his life and he knew how much he was loved before he passed . Words can't describe how much he has been and will continue to be missed. His memory will always bring a smile to my face and I would like to honour him by following through with this donation.

Every dollar helps advance our treatments so people can live longer, happier lives if they are diagnosed with this crippling disease.
