Hello all,
My fiancè was diagnosed with her2 positive stomach and esophageal cancer in Dec 2013. He went through series of chemo treatments and in march 2014 was told that the scans showed him as diease free. Surgery was discussed and agreed upon to remove the tumors on the esophagus and part of the stomach. On May 2, he had a scan completed which showed fluid in his abdomen. The hospital drained the fluid and biopsied it and unfortunately it came back positive for cancer.
On May 12th, surgery was started. The Dr. found active cancer in his esophagus, stomach and colon, a tumor on his naval and spots of cancer in his pelvic and abdominal area. They removed a good amount of the esophagus, all of the stomach, the entire naval area and a foot and a half of the colon. They also completed a chemo wash on his pelvic area and in his abdomen cavity.
Everything seemed to go well except he has a continuous leak in the connection from the esophagus to the duodenum. They placed a stint on the 30th to help heal this leak.
He has been in and out of the OR 6 times. He is a strong man but after 4 weeks in the hospital, its starting to get to him:-( and he's in continuous pain.
I am hoping that this fundraiser will help Elliott with all of his expenses and unexpected medical bills. We appreicate all the support and love along the way. Thank you all.
