Please Help Mike Fight Against ALS

Those of you who know my dad know what a fighter he truly is. He has fought since the age of 19 to survive several health issues. His most recent battle began in December 2013, with his diagnosis of "Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis" (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease."
We have a goal to raise money to eventually make my parents' home wheelchair accessible as well as other handicap necessities. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. Eventually, the ability of the brain to start and control voluntary movement is lost. Unfortunately there is no cure for this disease. There are very few resources for home care that are covered by insurance, therefore there are significant costs for medical care, home health care, and help for the family's daily living. At this time my mother is his full time caregiver, in addition she continues to work full-time as a nurse.
No words can express the gratitude of any help or donation given towards allowing my dad to have a better quality of life. Though he has been dealt a life full of challenges he has remained positive and hopeful. He is a kind, loving and humble man who needs all the love and support he can get through this terrible disease.
