My name is Emani White, and I am the second oldest of three children. I was raised by a single parent who was also raised by a single parent of 5 children. Although I am not the first to attend college, I am the first to have an opportunity to attend such a prestigious University in any capacity.

There are 4 individuals residing in my home all supported by my hard-working mother. It would be extremely hard for my mother to come up with $2795 for this program with the three of us to support. My mother also supports my older brother through college and my younger sister with her extracurricular activities. I want to do my part by advancing towards all opportunities to lighten the load while still pursuing my dreams!

I have worked very hard all throughout my school years to keep my grades and attendance in stellar standings. My future is my focus and this opportunity can open many doors for me. This opportunity means so much to me and my family. This is my opportunity to become more, to do more, by paying it forward after an opportunity such as this propels me towards a bright future.
