Our team consists of our sons and daughters, 6 talented seventh graders from Mary, Mother of the Redeemer in North Wales, PA wrote an original script, created their own props and costumes, and learned about teamwork and creativity along the way! They won 2nd place in the PA state competition - which means they are headed to the WORLDS competition.
800+ teams from 26 countries will compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Michigan State University May 22- 25 and our team has qualified to compete!
This is where you can help! We are seeking sponsors to make donations to help offset the cost of attending the World Finals. Odyssey of the Mind is totally extracurricular, led by parent volunteer coaches.
For the trip to Michigan, our team plans to fund-raise to pay the registration fee and room-and-board costs. Team members pay their own travel and incidentals. Their goal is $3,100 - this would help cover the $2,500 registration fee and provide a $100 rooming credit for each child.
Their coach is one of the student's moms, Andrea McDougal. She is in charge of registering the team and paying fees upfront. All funds will be withdrawn and given to Andrea in order to reimburse her.
We appreciate any assistance you can provide to help our team get to Michigan State University for the World Finals competition. Your donation will go a help towards providing these talented students with a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase their talents, meet students from other countries, and proudly represent their school at an international venue.
