MC's Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
I am Megan-Claire Chase - MC or Meg for short. As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer on 9/14/15. Thanks to a previous fundraiser in 2015 that a co-worker held for me, I was able to get all the chemo bills covered 100%. last year.
Now, I am raising money to reach my high deductible and high out-of-pocket I have to pay my insurance for this year 2016. Right now, I have to pay 80% and insurance will only cover 20%. If I can just raise this amount, then my insurance will really kick in and cover 100%. I am also raising money to help with living expenses for when I have to stay home and recover from my surgeries. I don't qualify for short-term disability because I was diagnosed three months prior to open enrollment.
I finally got my surgery date MARCH 28th. Ideally, I would love to have raised enough by then so when I have my breast cancer/breast reconstruction surgeries, that insurance will cover it 100% and I will have enough to pay living expenses once FMLA kicks in.
I have a lot of pride, so asking for help, especially financially, is hard. I have to remind myself this is cancer and not asking for help for something minor. As a single woman, getting cancer is a devastating blow both emotionally and financially. Who can afford cancer?!?! Please know any amount raised will mean the world to me and help relieve a lot of the stress I am under.
Love and Hugs,
Megan-Claire
