Equipment needed for Midwifery training!

Hello! My name is Juli Tilsner and I am a Licensed Midwife, Certified Professional Midwife, Childbirth Educator, and Doula Trainer. I am the co-founder of Cornerstone Doula Trainings, which has been well established as one of the leading doula training programs in the Bay Area for over 8 years. 

I have a very important question for you: What is the missing key component of current leading Midwifery Training Programs? More importantly, how can you help to be a part of filling that gap?

Current midwifery trainings lack the tools such as anatomical models and state of the art equipment that are required to provide a clinical learning environment necessary to practice and master essential hands-on clinical skills. For example: Suturing, catheterization, and specialized delivery maneuvers. Without these tools, a student midwife may need months or even years in an apprenticeship to get the opportunity to practice these essential skills. 

Here's where you come in!
Cornerstone is expanding to offer a one-of-a-kind midwifery training program that will add a didactic learning component to greatly enhance the apprenticeship experience, and provide the necessary preparation for student midwives to work with live clients. Our vision is to provide intensive hands-on skill practice to our student midwives through the use of state of the art tools and anatomical models.

What We Need: 
I am 100% dedicated to my students getting the best instruction available, and that is why I need your help to meet my $8,000 goal to be able to purchase anatomical models, medical instruments and tools for my program. With these tools, my students will be able to gain the experience and hone in on skills that will take many years to attain otherwise. Every dollar donated will go directly to the purchase of these tools.

The Impact:
By supporting this initiative, you will be doing your part to ensure that the midwives of the future get the best possible education, which in turn will continue to drive down the incidence of c-section rates and maternal mortality and morbidity in our country.
