Holly’s Hair Chop
After years of growing my hair out, I have decided to get it cut shorter and donate a lengthy amount to the Little Princess Trust. This is so my hair can be used to make wigs for children that have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. I would love to cover the cost of the wig to be made out of my hair! I am due to get my hair cut on Saturday 27th April and I will post before and after pics for you all to see.
Every single person is affected by cancer in some way. I had already decided to donate my hair, however due to recent personal circumstances this feels even more important to do so. As some people close to me will know in February this year, my dad was diagnosed with Secondary, metastatic lymph node neck cancer with Primary tumour of the tonsils. He has already had his tonsils removed and as of next week he will start an 8 week course of Radiotherapy which will also include 3 treatments of Chemotherapy. My nan has also been receiving treatment for Cancer of the Spine for the past 2 years. It’s been a really tough time for all of my family coming to terms with these diagnoses, however we are all keeping positive for both my nan’s and my dad’s treatment.
I know this isn’t the typical way to donate to a cancer charity. I’m not running a marathon or completing a gruelling assault course. But I hope that by donating my hair, I can bring some joy to someone battling cancer.
Thank you xx
