Cancer Sucks

Donation protected
Haley has lived a short 29 years with many heartaches.  The biggest hurdle are the insulinoma tumors she is fighting.

Insulinoma is a tumor of the pancreas that produces excessive amounts of insulin and this causes low blood sugar.  Haley has had two surgeries to remove tumors and is looking at a 3rd one within the month.  The previous one was only in August of 2017.

Low blood sugar is hard to control as it can come on quickly and cause seizures if it drops too low.  Without surgery the tumors will spread to other organs and eventually cause death.  This is the beginning of pancreatic cancer which often is not found until it is too late.  Haley's tumors have not spread.  She is very lucky to have a great medical team at KU.

6 years ago she had a car wreck due to low blood sugar that caused her to have a seizure while driving. Thankfully no one was injured.

Each surgery had complications afterwards causing long periods of not being able to work.  We can only hope this surgery goes well, but surgery of the pancreas is one of the most complicated as it is such a sensitive organ.

Haley has insurance now, but still faces many medical bills that she has not been able to pay.  While off for surgery and recovery she will have daily bills, one of which includes the daycare of her 3 year old.

This request is to help lessen the burden and give her a positive outlook for her future.
