Battling Addiction Event May 10th

About a year ago Shawn Coope and myself asked ourselves what else could we do in our community to help in the battle to fight the Heroin Epidemic that has hit every small town in New Hampshire.  What else could be done.  Thats when the idea of getting Chris Herren to come speak was first thrown around.  For those of you who don't know you Chris Herren is or what the Herren Project does let me give you a brief History.  Chris was a basketball legend from Fall River Massachusetts.  During his time at Fall River Chris broke all kinds of records and in 1998 was drafted to the Denver Nuggets and then was traded to the Boston Celetics after his rookie season.  Chris lost his career to substance abuse.  Since 2008 he has refocused his life to put his sobriety and family above all else.  He nows tours the country sharing his harrowing story of abuse and recovery.  WIth the help of Chuck Clement owner of Eastern Propane we were able to secure Meadowbrook Pavilion on May 10th.  We are in the process of inviting all the high schools around the lake for this important event.  The $7500 will be used to cover the speakers costs.
