I am raising money for...
The 7th annual PEPY Ride. Over the course of 19 days this Dec \'11 - Jan \'12, I will cycle 1000km through Cambodia to raise funds to support educational and social development programs in rural areas of the country.
Operating the bike tour is PEPY, an organization driven primarily by development projects concerning the education system in Cambodia. They work to improve the quality and accessibility of education in the poorest rural areas of the nation. PEPY builds schools, trains teachers, awards scholarships, sponsors community literacy camps and supplemental education, to name few of their many projects. The money collected will go towards... (in order of fulfillment)
1. Required Fundraising Contribution
Funds from each rider will be channeled back to the community
development programs visited on the tour. We\'ll visit the PEPY Schools,
and stop to visit with organizations that focus on everything from developing
affordable home water treatment to the reintegration of homeless
\"street\" children into families and schools -- just to name a few!
The tour will give us the opportunity to see the benefits of our contributions
first-hand! $1,500 plus ($1,500 minimum contribution, plus every dollar over our goal!)
2. Tour Trip Fee
Each rider has a set \"trip fee\" to cover shelter & food
over the course of the ride. The dollars spent within the tours
themselves will also be bringing support to Cambodia since all PEPY Tours are
built around locally owned restaurants and guest houses as well as groups
working with and funding sustainable development programs. This translates into
delicious dining and comfortable sleeping, and all for a good cause! $1,650 (set trip fee)
3. Sponsorship
A portion of the
funds raised will go towards sponsoring my participation on the ride by
assisting with a few of the out-of-pocket expenses associated with the

here. $1,950 (towards airfare, visas, equipment rental for 19 days which is est. at $2,000 plus. Every dollar over $1,950 will go straight back to PEPY, but you can always contact me if you would like to specify what you want your donation to go towards)
