Ethan’s Journey

Ethan is our 5th baby and this has not only effected his life but all of our family.... from the minute Ethan was born he was sick, after over a year of testing and waiting for a liver transplant we were given the news that Ethan would not only NOT receive a liver, but with what they found wrong with his chromosomes it was abnormal for him to have lived over 9 months. He was now 18 months and we knew that God was looking out for our family... we made memories as we could and did the best to make the best out of the cards we were dealt. On Christmas Day 2019 Ethan took a turn for the worse with his breathing and we were back in the hospital. After speaking with many of his providers the Wolfsons ICU unit took our boy home on high flow oxygen where we slept on an air mattress in his room until he took his last breath in our arms on January 2nd.... from this moment our family has not only had to figure out how to pick up the pieces without our son, but the financial responsibility that comes with it. Just because Ethan had passed didn’t mean his medical bills would or the fact that I his mom had not been working for 2 years while he was sick. We are both now working and life cannot catch is a break... our home that we made memories with our sweet boy in is going to be going up for sale before we can financially afford to purchase it, and we will have to move out... we are hoping and praying for a miracle to be able to stay here and not lose this home that we have so many memories in.... if anyone can help or just pray or reach out with some advice for our family we would greatly appreciate it... thank you in advance.... the Hoeffers
