Dave Burt & Family Support

For the past year, Dave has been on a journey to better health. Through hard work and determination he has managed to lose 150+ pounds with diet and exercise. On April 24, Dave had a Sleeve Gastrectomy in order to further aid in his journey. The gastic surgery itself was a success. Unfortunately, he suffered an unforeseen complication from an Appendectomy 25 years prior. It was during the surgery to correct this problem that a couple of major complications occurred that resulted in him being in the ICU since April 29. He spent 2 weeks sedated and on a ventilator. He is awake now, but the medications he must be on have greatly weakened his body and made recovery an extremely slow process. While he has made great strides in some areas, he has also suffered great setbacks in others.

Dave is a Paramedic and a Fire Fighter. On a daily basis he works hard to save lives, sometimes putting his own at risk. Now, he is in a fight to save his own life.
