Help me buy a new wheelchair

Hello, my name is Von Harris and I am in need of your support.  I grew up with a physical disability that happened to me as a child. So life has never been easy for me. For many years, as a child, I endured lots of operations and physical therapy, but I never let the hand I have been dealt slow me down. I am a free spirit and I never shy away from a challenge.

However, living in New York City has challenges of its own.  On a daily basis, it is very difficult for me to get around in the city.  There are so many cracked sidewalks, lack of curb cuts and very few wheelchair accessible subway stations just to name a few. Because of these conditions, sadly, my wheelchair has lots of wear and tear on it and I am now in need of a new one. Needless to say the current wheelchair that I have has slowed me down dramatically.

Currently I am an unemployed freelance filmmaker with no healthcare. With the high cost of medical equipment, lack of insurance and no job, it is impossible for me to buy a good, reliable, durable wheelchair.  This is why I am reaching out to all of you and asking for your help financially.  Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated.
