Open Heart Surgery for Kenzie

Hello,
Meet our daughter Kenzie. Artist, adventurer, and mommy's girl. She was born in May 2011 with a VSD (ventricular septal defect), a defect in the ventricular septum, the wall dividing the left and right ventricles of the heart. In most children these holes close within a child's first year of life. Over the past 3 years she has been monitored closely by a cardiologist at Children's Hospital in Neenah. Due to the location of the hole, as it closes its pulling open a valve and creating a leak. We hoped this would correct itself, but its only getting worse. At her last appointment we decided to approve surgery, scheduled on July 18th to correct the defect. She knows she has a special hearbeat, and we explained to her that after the surgery her heart will sound just like mommy's. She may not understand it now, but we're making the best decision for her. We are very nervous but with the love and support of our family we will help Kenzie get through this.
Seeing a specialist is not free and our medical bills with Children's hospital are growing, and I'm sure will get much larger after her surgery. We are a family that lives paycheck to paycheck, and can only afford $125 a month in health care expenses. If you do the math, it will take years to payoff.
We are asking and praying for financial help from anyone who can afford to help. Every penny earned will go directly towards Kenzie's medical bills and medical expenses. We appreciate and thank you for all donations!
