Help baby Addilyn triumph over cancer!

     Hello everyone, this is my baby cousin Addilyn She is just over a year old. The picture above is just a few short weeks ago when she was still healthy. In April after a bout of vomiting and illness she was referred to Primary Children’s where they found a golf ball size tumor on her brain. Addi was then diagnosed with Myxopapillary Ependymoma. This is a type of cancer that grows in the brain and spinal cord. They were lucky enough to catch the cancer before it metastasized, but unfortunately after the surgery Addi got MERSA. They had to then open her skull up again and soak a part of her skull and wash her brain in antibiotics. She now has to endure a stent, picc line, and feeding tube to help fight off not only the cancer but also an aggressive staph infection.
     As you can see from the first picture where she is in the hospital and the picture above, this cancer has already affected her. Because it grows in the brain, after the tumor was removed her vision was affected and she lost control of her eyes so they cross. Also since the tumor was removed she has developed tremors in her leg. Both will probably follow her for the rest of her life.
     In about 2 weeks little Addilyn will start radiation five days a week, with three of those days paired with chemotherapy as well. Due to the uncertainty of Addi’s health her parents have not wanted to leave her side so they have been unable to work, making it impossible for them to pay for the exorbitant costs of the cancer treatments.
