Hello lovely friends and family!
As many of you may know, I’m not the type of woman who really asks for help. I can be stubborn at times, but my hard-headedness drives my passion, and is one of the reasons why I’m reaching out to you all. I’m sure many of you are aware of the current situation looming in Syria, as well as how it has left so many families displaced. In Lebanon alone, there are over 1 million Syrian refugees, many being children, with millions more scattered throughout the Middle East. These displaced children are stripped of an opportunity to obtain an education, and that’s where Jusoor comes in. Jusoor is a non-political organization striving to aid Syrians in achieving academic and developmental goals. Many individuals across the globe and I will be working together with Jusoor to help provide a normal, daily routine incorporating valuable education to children 10 years old and younger. Many of the children I will be working with have never had the opportunity to go to school because they were very young when the war started. All they have known is a life of fear and pain, and through this trip, I will not only provide these kids with the tools to gain an education but also teach psychosocial skills to help them overcome the traumatic incidents in their lives. Hearing the devastating stories from these Syrian refugees has made me restless and led me to this amazing opportunity with Jusoor. And this is where you come in! Please help me with the cost of my ticket and accommodation for this trip! As an independent college student, I can’t afford this trip alone. Please help me out in any way you can! As a modest person, I’m asking for modest gifts of support. I love you all and I understand that we all have tough times surrounding us but any little bit helps go a long way.
