Israel Trip

I have some very exciting news! Pastor Wentz and his wife Kedma have asked me to join their group from Faith Lutheran, Riverside in their trip to Israel! The story is amazing really. Kedma served as the leader for the Spanish Cursillo I recently worked on. We had served together on other weekends and have become quite close. She had asked many times for me to go but I just waved it off and said no way! On Sunday at the service we had at our church on May 18th for the Cursillo group she approached me again to see about our congregation going. Then she said I needed to go. I needed to trust in God to remove any and all obstacles to my going at this time. I was in tears and said our financial situation had not changed and was not likely to. She said ask and it shall be given. I tremble even as I type this. The pull of the Spirit is very strong! That all being said, God had opened many doors that are evident to me to be signs pointing me in the direction to go on this particular trip and this time.
The extra vacation days that I was told could roll over into this next year, the small amount of money I had been setting aside-for no other reason then I felt it important to do so covered my passport fees, then the biggest miracle of all mentioning it to one person and their handing over a check for $1000! Pastor was thrilled with the idea of my going and is very supportive. I told him it could be sort of a "business trip". As he is thinking of putting a trip like this together in the near future! I was only half kidding of course! He was also supportive of my asking for sponsorships. With his blessing I approached our Senior Bible study and addressing a few emails to a select few who know me, know my heart and commitment to serving the Lord. I need $2600 more to make the trip. I need to have this to them by mid July. I am blessed with extra hours at Kohl’s and our family bills are stable, Praise God…another obstacle God has taken care of. If you are so led to help facilitate my taking what has been called by numerous people, “The trip of a lifetime” and "not to be missed", it would be an amazing blessing! I feel a need to go on this particular trip, at this moment in time, with this group of folks as I feel great thanksgiving for all the Lord has done for me. I survived cancer and many storms over the last few years and I hear His call clearly to connect with Him on a new and awesome level. If you know me this is just not an escape or vacation, it is a true pilgrimage. I plan on blogging and videoing my experience and sharing it with all of you!
If you cannot help financially, please do not feel bad about it, just pray that this will come to pass by His grace and in His time.
