Help Babs move to Michigan! (& help MGP)

Help me move to Michigan, and help fund Montrose Grace Place! Any funds not used for the move will be donated to MGP.
My sister and I will be driving from Houston to Ann Arbor in early August. I will be attending the University of Michigan for a Master of Social Work.
For the last few years I have worked for a large international coffee shop chain :-) , while working on my BSW.
During that time, I helped found Montrose Grace Place, a homeless youth drop-in program in Houston.
I was homeless at the age of 16. I lived for a few months at the Covenant House in Houston in 1983.
When the possibility of building MGP came up at a church committee meeting, it was like a light went on over my head. I've been involved with the program since then.
Montrose Grace Place is now a toddler, coming up on it's fourth birthday. Though founded by a Lutheran church, we are a secular program. We accept the youth as they are and do not impose our religious views on them. We have reached and interacted with somewhere close to 400 street kids, aged 13-21, since we started. MGP is growing, and wanting to expand.
At U-M, I hope to learn more about healing for youth and children who have experienced trauma. I also hope to work in and learn about the foster care and child protective systems. Many youth who are on the street are coming out of foster care. I would like to be a part of improving that system.
All funds not used for expenses related to moving will be donated to Montrose Grace Place.
An itemization will be provided to donors after the move.
