Send Tori to Malawi!
I am so excited to be able to share an amazing opportunity that God has placed in my life. I was recently invited to join a mission team going to Malawi, Africa, in March from Summit Church in Orlando, Florida. We will be partnering with Children of the Nations (COTN), a child sponsorship program and community builder that provides holistic, Christ-centered care for orphaned and destitute children. Some of you may already know about my passion for missions and the burning desire God has placed in my heart for justice issues. It is estimated that 27 million people in the world today live in some sort of bondage. There are horrifying statistics of children being bought and sold into prostitution and the numbers are growing. This issue is something I feel called to help do something about, and I believe this trip is the next step God is asking me to take in seeking justice. For the last few years, I have felt God pulling at my heart to serve in overseas missions, and until about a month ago, that seemed impossible. But when an opportunity came up to serve in Africa, God immediately opened the door for me to go there. With a floundering government and a starving economy, Malawi faces constant challenges in building and expanding their job market and improving education, health care, and quality of life. Many are severely affected by AIDS, malaria and the lack of clean water, resulting in a multitude of orphans & widows. As a member of the 2013 March team, I will be spending time in villages building relationships with these people. We will be educating them on disease prevention and the spread of AIDS, sharing the gospel with the children through a sports event, and simply showing them the love of Christ. I would like to offer you the opportunity to partner with me in this. I have gotten to the place I am today because of prayer and wonderful people like you supporting me, so I am asking again for your prayers! In addition to needing prayer, I am also in need of financial support. The trip is going to cost approximately $2,600 plus the cost of vaccinations and packing items which will come out of pocket.
