Medical Mission Trip to Africa

I am a Registered Nurse from Phoenix, Arizona with a back ground in cardiac and emergency medicine. I will be part of a 63 person mission team through my church that will be traveling to Nairobi Africa on July 11th and staying for 10 days. The teams are divided into medical, education, a soccer outreach program, and lastly one that will be placing skylights in homes to “bring the light” into otherwise dark homes. The medical team will be triaging and providing care in a clinic as well as a day to go out into the community for those that are unable to travel to the clinic. 

There are a few things in my life that I have ever felt so sure about but this trip is one of them! I am so thankful for the challenges, people, and paths that have led me to this trip. There are just two more things that I need to make this trip possible and I’m requesting your help. The first is prayer, prayer, and more prayer. I have days where I doubt myself and my abilities to do this trip. Please pray for confidence, ability, and skills I need. In addition, please pray for the entire team that will be traveling for safety and the resources needed to help the people in Nairobi not only while we are there but for a lasting legacy.

The last item needed is the funds for the trip. The entire trip including airfare, lodging, transportation and meals will cost $3300 per person. I know this amount seems like such a big amount but I am faithful that as God has guided me to this mission that he will also provide to reach this goal. Every amount counts and helps! The first payment of $1600 is due June 15th with the remaining due in July. 
 
For any friends or family that are reading this I am requesting that in lieu of birthday, Christmas, or other gifts that you would give me over the next year that you would consider donating to my trip instead.

I know not everyone is able to financially give but I accept positive words, hugs, prayers, and advice :) Also keep in mind to pass this on if you do know anyone who might be in a position to give.

July 11, Day 1, Friday: Leave Phoenix (or a late team will leave 7/12) and stay the night in a Dulles Washington area hotel.
July 12, Day 2, Saturday: Depart Dulles
July 13, Day 3, Sunday: Arrive Kenya, Orientation and Preparation
July 14-18, Day 4-7, Monday - Friday: Projects in the slums
July 19, Day 8, Saturday: Rest and do something fun
July 20, Day 9, Sunday: Church and then pack up and catch flight home
July 21, Day 10, Monday: Arrive Phoenix
