I have a friend named Joey Langston who took a nasty fall February 6th of 2014. The next day, the ER doc took x-rays and sent him home, and a few hours later he was back in the ER. The next day he was admitted to the hospital, and it was discovered that his injury was much more severe than originally thought, with severe disk degeneration and arthritis showing significant problems.
He was transferred to a rehab center February 12th and has been there ever since. He's had a surgery on his back, and is still wheelchair bound.
Obviously, he has been unable to work all this time, and his savings are gone.
This GoFundMe is to raise money to cover his rent and car payment. $500 is needed urgently to avoid losing both - like, I need to have it in his hands ASAP. (A prepaid Visa card will be used). I am setting this GoFundMe to a longer period of time, and for more money, because *he's not getting out any time soon*.
At this point, after much physical therapy, Joey is able to stand up using a walker and take a few steps.
My friend, at this point, is at the end of his rope. He's managed well for four months, but now he needs some help.
If we all chip in $5 or $10, we can make sure he keeps his home and his car. When he is released from rehab, those are obviously the critical two things he will need to pull his life back together.
