Those of you who know John know that he is a very adventurous soul. He always loves a challenge wether its work related or fun related. Nothing is ever too difficult. We have been through a lot of tough times and great adventures together over the last 18 or so years. He has always made it work. We went on another adventure on the 5th of June. We arrived in Moab for a shoot. We immediately loaded up and headed out for a quick hike and a rappel or 2. The hike was steep and hard but beautiful per usual. I can always count on finding beautiful places when I'm with my brother from another mother. Once we reached our destination, we readied ourselves, checked our gear, checked all of the points, added some extra safety webbing and enjoyed  the view for a few. Shortly after, it was time to rappel. John went first. On his 200' rappel, he encountered some issues. Unfortunately, these issues resulted in a rather large fall of 40-50'. During this fall, he ended up with 2 severely broken legs and had to be flown to St Marys hospital in Grand Junction for surgery, where is today. As you can imagine, this is all going to be very expensive.  Now comes the bad news. John's insurance lapsed last month. His union insurance doesn't kick back in until July 1. The medial bill is already over $250,000 not including his upcoming surgery, continued hospital stay, rescue services or his helicopter ride. Nor does it include house payments, child care, and John's usual monthly bills. He is not the kind of person to ask for help and was very hesitant to let the go fund me happen. After much persuasion from several people, he gave me the ok to start this. As you can imagine, it will be a few months before he is able to get back to work. As a free lance worker, that means no paychecks coming in.  He and his family are really going to need our help. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all who are able to donate. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm looking forward to seeing him heal and get back on set in the future.
