After three years in Atlanta Young Singers of Callanwolde, Asha has the life changing opportunity to travel to Europe participate in the World Choir Games.
Asha received her three-year service award just one week ago!
Asha has sung all her life. She sings all the time. During her time at AYS, her skills as a singer have vastly improved (and as a musican in the school band). She now knows how to sight-read and has even started writing her own songs. Her appreciation for all types of music has grown. Sure, she still listens to pop music but more often than not, she can be found on the front porch swing serenading the neighbors with a song she learned at AYS.
And language is no barrier at AYS. The choir sings songs in all languages, from all ages. One of Asha's favorite holiday songs is a Spanish hanukkah song - Ocho Kandelikas.

The World Choir Games is the largest choir competition in the world. Think, the Olympics of singing! Asha will be interacting with students from across the globe and will see world-class choir performances. She will have a broader view of the possibilities afforded her as a trained singer.
This will also be her first time out of the country and her first time particpating in a choir competition. She is excited to go with the close friends she has made at AYS and perform her solo during the French-Canadian song O-Yo-Yo.
Through fundraising this year, Asha got halfway to her final goal for this trip but we still need your help. Please consider helping support her on an adventure of a life time.
