The Scarpa family lives in Jersey City, New Jersey. Raff and Ariel are high school sweethearts and have a 3 year old son Mason. Raff is a hard working construction worker who makes a long commute to Pennsylvania every week. Even though he knew commuting to PA would be hard and take away quality time from his family, it was a sacrifice he knew he needed to make. Raff is the sole provider in his household and had taken the employment opportunity with one goal in mind; to provide the best for his family. His family is his world. When he isn’t working, he spends every moment he can with his family. Raff Scarpa is a loving, humble, kind-hearted, dedicated, generous, family loving man. He wanted to eventually buy a home closer to work and marry Ariel.
On May 27, 2014 Raff’s aspirations were put on hold. Raff was in a horrific car accident when he reared off the road and slammed into a tree while commuting to work. His injuries are severe; a broken hip, nasal cavity, nose, jaw along with other multiple fractures to the head and cranial bleeding. There will be a long road to recovery and at this time it is not clear what the long term affects may be.
It is especially unfair that this family is experiencing this misfortune that may change their lives forever. They are a young family full of life and love and deserve better.
For those who know me, know that I believe it is more rewarding to watch money change a person’s world than to watch it accumulate.
When courage and generosity hold hands, all things are possible!
