Trekking for the Troops 2020

Trekking for the Troops is an annual philanthropy that the Zeta Xi Chapter of Sigma Nu has held since 2012, with the goal of bringing awareness to military post-traumatic stress disorder. Each year, a group of Sigma Nu brothers hikes the southern half of the John Muir Trail from Bishop to Mt. Whitney, an approximately 110-mile stretch. The trek itself is physically strenuous, reaching a maximum elevation of 14,505' at the summit of Mt. Whitney. Donations will go directly to the Veterans Administration Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS), specifically the Post Deployment Assessment Treatment (PDAT) program located in Martinez, California.

This year, Trekking for the Troops will take place from September 14th-24th. The 14 brothers participating have committed to each raise $500, and the general chapter hopes to raise an additional $5,000 for a total of $12,500. Our chapter seeks to continue to support our veterans during these difficult times; any and all donations to our cause are greatly appreciated.
