Alan's Smart Brailler

As many of you know, our son, Alan, is blind. Despite this- he is at, or ahead, in almost all areas of his learning so far. He requires lots of special tools in order to learn the same things, and at the same pace, as his sighted peers. He is provided with most of these things--but there is a brand new tool that would help him excel even further. This tool is the Perkins Smart Brailler. Now, Alan already has a regular Brailler that he practices writing on, just like other kids practice writing with a pencil and paper. The Smart Brailler is special because The SMART Brailler includes a visual display screen where parents and teachers can see what the child is typing in both print and braille, bridging the gap between sighted parents and visually impaired kids. It also offers audio feedback, so young children who are drawn to sound or who need that added incentive are much more motivated to interact with this brailler.
