Truett-McConnell College is committed to God’s global purpose. President Caner’s commitment to missions is evident by the recent establishment of the World Missions Center at Truett-McConnell College. Dr. Caner challenges all students to participate in a short-term international mission trip during their course of study. I am excited to announce that the TMC Chorale will travel to England and Scotland on a choir/mission trip March 2-9, 2015!
In preparation for the trip, we are learning about the region and the people, their beliefs, and how we can best share God’s love with them through music. Once we arrive in the country, we will continue to learn more about these people and will interact with them on a daily basis to share the Word of God through song. What a privilege to share the Gospel with those who otherwise may never hear it.
Our concert opportunities include a Baptist Church in London, a worship service in the Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul where John Newton was pastor when he wrote “Amazing Grace,” Fuller Baptist Church in Kettering, York Minster Cathedral, the Great Banquet Hall of Edinburgh Castle, and St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. We will also visit the Carey Baptist Missionary Society in Moulton and learn more about William Carey, the founder of modern day missions.
The members of the TMC Chorale are eagerly anticipating this opportunity, and we need your support. First and foremost, I would like to ask for your support through prayer. Pray that God will open doors for His Word, that we may speak the mystery of Christ through boldness and clarity, and that we would walk wisely. Most importantly, pray that God would open people’s hearts to receive the Gospel.
I would also like to ask you to pray about investing in God's work by financially supporting Truett-McConnell’s mission effort to reach the world for Christ. The Division of Music and Fine Arts works to organize trips in such a way that assures good stewardship of God’s money. However, trips like these, especially overseas, are expensive. The cost of this trip is around $3,500 per person. Missions endeavors are possible because of individuals like yourself who sacrificially give to help spread the Gospel around the world. Please prayerfully consider how God might have you invest in this opportunity.
