Baby Kase Therapy and Medication

“Kase has a newly discovered gene deletion called 5q14.3 microdeletion syndrome. Not much is known about the deletion but we have learned a lot through a Facebook page of kids that share the deletion. There is roughly 30 cases known. Kase has mental and physical disabilities. He has hypotonia (low muscle tone), which requires a lot of physical therapy, oral motor therapy (eating and swallowing), pulmonary care (issues with lungs, especially when sick). Kase has autistic tendencies and a vision impairment called CVI (cortical visual impairment). Kase also struggles with a seizure disorder that causes him to have up to 200 myoclonic seizures per day. His disorder is very resistant to medications. He has tried 3 seizure meds that have not worked and is currently a pioneer in a new type of natural medication, He has been weened off most of his medication is currently taking CANNABIS CBD. this natural medication has dropped his seizures and seems to be helping keep them under control. It also has been able to processed and is a new strain with very little THC. On a positive note Kase has never struggled with ‘failure to thrive’ like so many of the other kids that share his deletion. He is a BIG chunky guy :)” - Katharine (mom)
