<div>Hi, I'm Brittany and this is Pepper. She just turned two and has been through so much in her short little life. Unfortunately, she needs to go through a major surgery that will require a hospitalization. A year ago, Pepper developed an abscess on her side and underwent her first surgery to lance it and drain it and insert a drain tube. In April, it came back and she went through another surgery to drain it again. In July, it came back again. She did two months of antibiotics and in September had yet another surgery. This time, they removed all the tissue and muscle from the area. And in December it came back again. She had a CT scan this week, which cost $2200. The CT scan showed an extensive infected area, from her right side all the way through to the left side of her body and under her spine. The surgeon couldn't see a foreign object, but is confident there is something in there and until we get it out, it's going to keep coming back.

<div>Carter has been through so much loss, from losing Duke two years ago, to most recently losing Baxter so suddenly and then my mom and dads dog, Sasha. He is terrified that he's going to lose Pepper after those losses. I need to do everything we can to try to ensure we save Pepper. This is an extremely intensive surgery with a lot of risks, and will be very expensive. I hate being in the position to ask for help, but this is our last option and chance to help Pepper. The surgery is estimated to cost between $5,000-$7,000, on top of the several thousand we've already spent over the last year.

<div>Unfortunately, the abscess came back yet again in March, and has now ruptured so she's back on antibiotics and pain meds again. This process will continue every few months until we can afford the surgery to cure it.
