Geoff Hoyas - Medical / Life Expenses

Donation protected
Hello, and thank you for reading this message.  Our friend Geoff is in need of help.  He was recently diagnosed with esophagael cancer - and while he has a positive prognosis - the treatments are / have been / will be taking a grave toll on his body.

Geoff has faced - and overcome - many obstacles in his life.  He was born with physical disabilities that might have made lesser people fold up their tents and raise the white flag.  But not Geoff - he has always handled his physical limitations - and their progressions - with dignity, grace and an awesome sense of humor.  I'm sure he's had a meltdown here and there, but - you know - he would have the right to be an angry and bitter person, now that he's been faced with the reality of using a scooter / wheelchair to increase  his mobility.  Now that he's been forced to accept that pain - physical and emotional - are part of his daily routine.  But not Geoff.  He continues to inspire us with his ability to laugh in the face of crippling pain in his legs / hips / back...caused by issues he's had from birth.  He has worked hard all of his life even though he would have been eligible for disability benefits;  his good nature has seen him become a husband and a father, and has blessed him with friends who love and cherish him.  Who could not love, respect and admire a person who takes alllllllll those lemons and makes lemonade??  Every day - tons and tons of lemonade!

BUT - As if his dire situation was not enough, fate dealt him another blow when he was diagnosed with esophagael cancer just a few short weeks ago.  He is in treatment now, but the radiation and chemo have wreaked havoc on his already compromised system.  His doctors are hopeful for a full recovery, but in the meantime, he is unable to work, or eat, or rest easy.  Thankfully he is still able to make us laugh - from 2000 miles away - and, luckily, can still access his bawdy and silly sense of humor!

We are his life-long friends.  We grew up with him, but circumstances have him living on the other side of the country - away from a support network that others would envy.

He is in need of financial assistance during this (yet another....) difficult time in his life.

I hope you will find it in your heart to donate to Geoff.  He can't feel our arms around him right now...but maybe he would be able to feel our love via donations that would make his treatment-days a little more bearable.  And that would make his inablilty to work at this time just a little less terrifying for him.  Please help us put a blanket of love around his shoulders.

Please consider it.  Thank you, again, for reading.
